Volkswagen Passat ECU remapping
3,703 files available

About remapping
The Volkswagen Passat accounts for 3,703 files in our catalogue, overwhelmingly diesel: the 2.0 TDI in its pump-duse and common-rail forms dominates, alongside the 1.6 TDI and the older 1.9 TDI PD. It is a large family saloon and estate that spends much of its life loaded and on the motorway.
Stage 1 makes up 3,115 files, with 705 EGR off and 323 DPF off. The ECU range covers EDC17C46, EDC17CP14, EDC17C74, EDC17CP20 and PCR2.1, plus the PPD1.2 on some pump-duse units. Confirming the exact reference is the first step, given the number of generations covered.

Is a remap worthwhile on a family estate?
Yes, particularly if it is used loaded. The extra mid-range torque is most noticeable with a full car or on gradients, which is exactly where these cars feel strained.
What is the difference between PD and CR?
Pump-duse (PD) is the earlier injection design; common rail (CR) came later with more refined control. Both are covered, but they require different files.
Is it reversible?
Yes. We always keep the original ECU file, so the car can be returned to factory configuration whenever needed.
