About remapping

The Volkswagen Crafter accounts for 892 files in our catalogue, with the 2.5 R5 TDI five-cylinder of earlier vans and the 2.0 TDI of later ones as the core engines, plus the twin-turbo 2.0 BiTDI. It is a large commercial van also widely used as a camper base.

Stage 1 makes up 694 files, with 212 DPF off, 195 EGR off and 106 AdBlue-related files — a high maintenance proportion typical of hard-working vans. The ECUs include EDC17C54, EDC16CP34, EDC17CP20, EDC17C64 and Delphi DCM6.2.

Frequently asked questions

What is the 2.5 R5 TDI?

It is the five-cylinder diesel fitted to earlier Crafters, with a distinctive delivery. It is well represented in our catalogue.

Is a remap worthwhile on a camper conversion?

Very much so. Campers carry substantial permanent weight, and the extra mid-range torque makes a real difference on gradients.

Why so many DPF and EGR files?

Because of how these vans are used: mixed urban and long-distance work clogs these systems sooner. Disabling them is not permitted on public roads, however.
