Smart CDI ECU remapping
15 files available
About remapping
This entry groups Smart CDi units in our catalogue, with 15 files, dominated by the 0.8 CDi three-cylinder diesel with a 1.0 CDi reference also present. It is one of the smallest diesel engines ever fitted to a production car.
Stage 1 makes up 12 files, with 5 Stage 2, 2 speed limiter removals and one EGR off. The ECUs are EDC15 and EDC16C31. Being a very small engine, the relative gain is proportionally noticeable on a car this light.

Is a remap worthwhile on such a small engine?
Yes, precisely because the car is so light: the relative gain in flexibility is noticeable in everyday driving, particularly when overtaking.
Does it affect the automated gearbox?
The work is done on the engine ECU. On this model we work with particular care to keep delivery within what the automated transmission handles well.
Is a remap worthwhile on a car of this age?
It depends on engine condition. On a well-maintained example it responds well, but remapping does not compensate for wear.
