BMW X5 ECU remapping

About remapping
The BMW X5 accounts for 2,195 files in our catalogue, dominated by the 3.0d straight-six diesel in its various forms — 30d, 40d and the twin-turbo M50d among them. It is a heavy SUV, and that weight is precisely why the extra mid-range torque of a remap is so noticeable.
Stage 1 makes up 1,729 files, with 324 EGR off, 316 Stage 2 and 292 speed limiter removals. The ECU range spans EDC16C31 and EDC16CP35 on earlier cars through to EDC17CP45, EDC17C50 and the more recent MG1CS201 and MEVD17.2H. All work starts from the original read of the unit.

Is a remap noticeable on a vehicle this heavy?
Very much so, precisely because of the weight. The extra mid-range torque reduces the need to change down when towing or fully loaded, which is where an X5 spends much of its life.
What is the M50d?
It is the multi-turbo version of the 3.0 diesel, the most powerful diesel in the range. It is covered in our catalogue with its own files.
Does it affect the xDrive system?
No. The work is done on the engine ECU and does not alter the operation of the all-wheel-drive system.
