About remapping

The Alfa Romeo MiTo accounts for 129 files in our catalogue, with a very even split between the 1.3 JTDm and 1.3 JTD diesels and the turbocharged petrol family of 1.4 T-Jet and MultiAir. It is a compact car with sporting intent, and that is reflected in the kind of work requested.

Stage 1 accounts for 110 of the 129 files, a very high proportion confirming that performance is what people are after here. There are also 5 pop and bang files, uncommon outside models with a sporting character. The most frequent ECUs are the Magneti Marelli MM8GMF, MJ8DFH and MJ8F3H, alongside the Bosch EDC16C39.

Frequently asked questions

Which MiTo engine responds best to remapping?

The 1.4 T-Jet and MultiAir, being turbocharged petrols, offer the widest margin. The 1.3 JTDm diesels gain mainly mid-range flexibility, which is where they are used most.

What is pop and bang, and do you do it on this model?

It is a setup that produces exhaust detonations when lifting off. We have 5 files for the MiTo, but bear in mind it can affect exhaust components and is not intended for road use.

Do you work with Magneti Marelli ECUs?

Yes, they are the standard units on this model: MM8GMF, MJ8DFH, MJ8F3H and MM8GMK appear frequently in our MiTo catalogue.
