Which generation offers more headroom?
The 2.9 TFSI biturbo, clearly. Being forced-induction, there is boost pressure to work with, which does not exist on the naturally aspirated 4.2 FSI V8.
What is the 4.2 FSI V8?
It is the naturally aspirated high-revving V8 of the previous RS5, much admired for its character. Gains are more modest than on a turbo.
What is the DL501?
It is the dual-clutch transmission ECU. Work on it adjusts shift points and torque limits, and often complements an engine map.
